Melbourne's CBD may be hosting a second safe room to do heroine. This room would be somewhere in Flinders Street, and there are many people not happy with this idea.
It was originally to be set up near the Queen Victoria Market on the CBD's northern fringe.
Tony Doherty, the owner of Doherty's Gym on Flinders Street, slammed the idea.
"It's a terrible place for is ... I can't think of a worse spot," he said.
But once Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley heard that they were thinking of having this room be in Flinders Street he ruled out Enterprise Park off Flinders Street as the location, he says the process to choose a site is still under way.
There is already a safe injecting room at North Richmond Community Health site, but it's whereabouts is controversial because it's so close to a school, so some people are thinking of moving it to Flinders Street. But some people want it both at Flinders Street and in Richmond.
